2016 CSA Options
The CSA runs from May 12th to October 13th (with a one-week break)

Deadline to Sign-up for Wolfscratch Bucks is February 15th!

To join our CSA, buy our “Wolfscratch Bucks” in $100 increments to shop at an exclusive weekly on-farm CSA market at Wolfscratch Farm. For every $100 you spend, you received an additional $15 in Wolfscratch Bucks–so, if you pay $300 then you will have $345 in Wolfscratch Bucks.

As a CSA member, you can redeem your “Bucks” for as much or as little as you like for what you want, when you want it! This gives you greater flexibility to pick your favorites and only get what you want and need instead of the traditional CSA model where you get a prepacked share of veggies.

This year, our CSA program will be run by our Non-profit Partner, The Learning Gardens at Wolfscratch Farm, to use our experience to teach interested young farmers how to run their own CSA and farm.

Hello! Maybe I’ve missed it on your site, but do you have a list describing a sample of the types of food and their quantity in a half share?

    Thanks!

Hey, Charlie! That’s something we have yet to add to the site permanently. The contents of a basket vary from season to season, but lately the baskets have generally had the following with some variance from week to week: 3 squash, 1/2 lb beans, a few tomatoes, herbs such as basil and sorrel, a couple of large eggplant, tomatillos or cucumbers, and melons now and again. There are usually about 6 items in each basket and as we approach cooler weather, greens such as kale and collards will begin to dominate. Full shares receive exactly double the quantity of each item. Please let us know if you have any further questions!

      Thanks!

    Hi Kristen,
Will you be selling at the new Village Festival on Steve Tate near Big Canoe?
I’d like to sign up for summer and fall, but I’d need to know what day is the farm pickup. We are out of town a lot.
    thanks,
    Lisa

      Hi Lisa,
We will be selling at the new Village Festival when it starts. We will also have markets on our farm, which is also very close to Big Canoe, starting on April 27th. The pick-up day for our CSA is on Wednesday this year.
      Thanks,
      Kristen

    Krisen,

Linda and I are interested in becoming members for this summer. When can we sign up?
We are Atlanta / Jasper residents so your arrangement is perfect for us.
    Best Regards,
    Brian

Is it too late to sign up for Spring? Is the farm the only location to pick up? Thanks.

    • March 3, 2012 12:22 am

      Hi Beth,
Thank you for your interest in our CSA; unfortunately, we do not have any more space for Spring members but we are still accepting members for the summer growing season if you are interested. We have a farm pick-up in Jasper, and two pick-up locations in Atlanta (Decatur and Pine Lake). I hope to hear back from you about signing up for the summer!
      Regards,
      Krisen

I am interested in signing up for 1/2 share in the Spring coop, and I can drop a check in the mail today, if it is not too late. What day of the week is farm pick up, and when will it begin for Spring shares? I live in Canton, in the retirement community of Soleil. Thanks.

      Hi Sharon,
We are excited you are interested in our CSA! I will send you an email with out contact information so we can answer your questions in depth.
      Thanks! Kristen

    Hello and Congratulations,
You are living my dream. I would like to do a full year half share, but need some idea as to how much food that would be weekly? I’m a single eater. I can’t wait to see your farms. Thanks.

    Jazmon

    • February 26, 2012 10:13 pm

      Hi Jazmon,
We would love to have you as a member. Our half-share baskets are suitable for 1-2 people and our full share baskets are for 3-4 people. On average our half-share baskets will weigh about 8 pounds in the spring, and 10 pounds in the summer (bulkier produce in the summer, with not as many greens). An example of a half share spring basket would be: a dozen radishes, a bag of braising greens, a bag of spring mix salad greens, spring onions, 3-4 good sized beets, broccoli rabe, a bag of sugar snap peas, and some fresh herbs. Of course, this will change throughout the season, based on what is available 🙂
I will also email you our contact information, if you have any other questions or want to chat.
      Thanks for your interest!

I asked yesterday if I could still mail a deposit check for the spring share and havent heard back? I had met Micheal at Suzy’s farm and lost the flyer and had to go back to Suzy to get the info again. If it is not to late I would love to sign up.

    • February 16, 2011 10:26 am

      Hi Shelli,
You are one of our lucky last members to be accepted for the Spring growing season! Please send in a check along with your application if you are still interested.
      Thanks!

I would love to sign up! I have 3 teens and would like to start w/a half share membership and see what gets eaten.
Also, I am interested in working. How many hours per week do your members work?
    I live in Decatur.

    Thanks!

    • February 8, 2011 8:57 pm

      Hey Bromley!
We would love to have you! Starting with a half share in spring season is just fine and if you need to go up to a full share we can work something out.
We are in need of worker shares and we are giving memberships to people who want to get there hands dirty once a week.
Please call me for more details:
see email for my cell number.
      Thanks,
      Jamie

    Michael:
I picked up your flyer from Suzy at Mt. Valley Farm. I edit/write the Outdoors section of Smoke Signals, Big Canoe’s newspaper, and also have a Web site, ngatops.com. I would like to do articles about you for both, probably in March when people are thinking spring and being out again. I will contact you in Feb. and setup an interview and to get some photos. I also mentioned you to some friends and they are interested in coming to see you too – Cynthia Hendry, who is our local landscape/growing expert is one of them. Suzy says great things about you – looking forward to meeting you! Thanks Michael.
