2016 CSA Options
The CSA runs from May 12th to October 13th (with a one-week break)
Deadline to Sign-up for Wolfscratch Bucks is February 15th!
To join our CSA, buy our “Wolfscratch Bucks” in $100 increments to shop at an exclusive weekly on-farm CSA market at Wolfscratch Farm. For every $100 you spend, you received an additional $15 in Wolfscratch Bucks–so, if you pay $300 then you will have $345 in Wolfscratch Bucks.
As a CSA member, you can redeem your “Bucks” for as much or as little as you like for what you want, when you want it! This gives you greater flexibility to pick your favorites and only get what you want and need instead of the traditional CSA model where you get a prepacked share of veggies.
This year, our CSA program will be run by our Non-profit Partner, The Learning Gardens at Wolfscratch Farm, to use our experience to teach interested young farmers how to run their own CSA and farm.

Hello! Maybe I’ve missed it on your site, but do you have a list describing a sample of the types of food and their quantity in a half share?

Hey, Charlie! That’s something we have yet to add to the site permanently. The contents of a basket vary from season to season, but lately the baskets have generally had the following with some variance from week to week: 3 squash, 1/2 lb beans, a few tomatoes, herbs such as basil and sorrel, a couple of large eggplant, tomatillos or cucumbers, and melons now and again. There are usually about 6 items in each basket and as we approach cooler weather, greens such as kale and collards will begin to dominate. Full shares receive exactly double the quantity of each item. Please let us know if you have any further questions!

How many weeks is each of your seasons?
Hi Adriana! Each if our seasons are 10 weeks. We are currently taking deposits for our summer season. Please let us know if you are interested or have any other questions for us!
It was nice meeting all of you on the farm yesterday! We are definitely interested in your CSA for the summer and will be going to the farmer’s markets for spring goodies. Feel free to send any greenhouse related questions my way.

We will be selling at the new Village Festival when it starts. We will also have markets on our farm, which is also very close to Big Canoe, starting on April 27th. The pick-up day for our CSA is on Wednesday this year.

Thank you for your interest in our CSA; unfortunately, we do not have any more space for Spring members but we are still accepting members for the summer growing season if you are interested. We have a farm pick-up in Jasper, and two pick-up locations in Atlanta (Decatur and Pine Lake). I hope to hear back from you about signing up for the summer!

You are living my dream. I would like to do a full year half share, but need some idea as to how much food that would be weekly? I’m a single eater. I can’t wait to see your farms. Thanks.

Hi Jazmon,
We would love to have you as a member. Our half-share baskets are suitable for 1-2 people and our full share baskets are for 3-4 people. On average our half-share baskets will weigh about 8 pounds in the spring, and 10 pounds in the summer (bulkier produce in the summer, with not as many greens). An example of a half share spring basket would be: a dozen radishes, a bag of braising greens, a bag of spring mix salad greens, spring onions, 3-4 good sized beets, broccoli rabe, a bag of sugar snap peas, and some fresh herbs. Of course, this will change throughout the season, based on what is available 🙂

I asked yesterday if I could still mail a deposit check for the spring share and havent heard back? I had met Micheal at Suzy’s farm and lost the flyer and had to go back to Suzy to get the info again. If it is not to late I would love to sign up.

We would love to have you! Starting with a half share in spring season is just fine and if you need to go up to a full share we can work something out.
We are in need of worker shares and we are giving memberships to people who want to get there hands dirty once a week.

I picked up your flyer from Suzy at Mt. Valley Farm. I edit/write the Outdoors section of Smoke Signals, Big Canoe’s newspaper, and also have a Web site, ngatops.com. I would like to do articles about you for both, probably in March when people are thinking spring and being out again. I will contact you in Feb. and setup an interview and to get some photos. I also mentioned you to some friends and they are interested in coming to see you too – Cynthia Hendry, who is our local landscape/growing expert is one of them.
